I don’t know about you, but I always enjoy reading about the New Year predictions, trends, and outlooks. It’s not surprising that everyone is talking about Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and security industry growth. However, what about leadership trends and predictions that will impact the security industry.
So, let’s start a conversation about the Top 3 Leadership Trends and Predictions facing the C-suite in 2023. I don’t have a crystal ball to see into the future, so I took a common-sense approach in putting together my list. I started with a top 10 list and whittled it down to three with the expectation that my friends and colleagues would contribute their trends and predictions.
My Top 3 Leadership Trends and Predictions
The Labor Shortage Will Only Get Worst – It will be harder to put together your team. Not only because there is a shortage of qualified entry-level professionals, but boomers are ready to move on, taking with them their knowledge and relationships. Organizations will be able to hire seasoned professionals; however, it will cost us. As leaders, we should expect to pay a premium for new hires and incentivize our existing talent to stay. We will also need to find creative ways to attract new talent and build a culture conducive to meeting employee needs to balance work and life schedules.
Tip: The labor shortage will provide an excellent opportunity for managed services companies like Datawatch Systems to grow.
The Big Companies Will Only Get Bigger – Will your organization be buyers or sellers? The big companies will only get bigger and depending on which side of the fence you sit on; this can be perceived as good or bad. Leaders will need to make hard strategic/dynamic decisions. Will you decide to be a buyer or a seller? It’s a difficult decision, especially since bigger isn’t always better.
Tip: The security industry needs local independent guard force management companies that provide a high level of service.
Companies Will Have To Embrace The Digital Transformation – As leaders, we need to embrace the digital transformation and how it will impact our businesses, workforce, and provided services. If leaders fail to drive the digital transformation of their business, the company will likely fail in the future. The security industry has the opportunity to break away from traditional business, workforce, and service models by providing insight to help leaders make informed decisions based on data provided by cohesive managed data systems.
Tip: 2023 will be about technology, data, process, and organizational change.
As we enter 2023, we have much to think about as leaders. Where will we find our next A-Team? Will we be buyers or sellers? Will we successfully embrace the Digital Transformation? I am interested in hearing what you have to say.
